The day after the inauguration, the new Governor already made his first trip out of the state. =  No dia após a posse, o novo governador já fez sua primeira viagem para fora do estado.

Em Inglês também temos o significado de ”inauguração,inaugurar” como em Português, porém, em Português não usamos “inaugurar”no sentido de “tomar posse” ou “inauguração” no sentido de “posse de mandato político”(ou similar).

Dr. Smith would love to  inaugurate his museum with a beautiful speech. = Dr Smith adoraria inaugurar seu museu com um belo discurso.
