Facility

The company has begun the building of a new facility. = A companhia começou a construção de uma nova instalação

Embora a palavra inglesa “facility “ tenha também a acepção de “facilidade”,  como em Português, poucas vezes é usada neste sentido. O Cambridge Dictionary registra o exemplo “His facility for memorizing dates was astonishing”.

A palavra “facilidade”, em geral, traduzida em Inglês por palavras como “cleverness, skill, easiness”, ou ainda por uma locução envolvendo a palavra “easy”.

Havia muita facilidade para se obter uma autorização especial. = It was very easy to get a special authorization

Por causa de sua experiência de vida, ele adquiriu grande facilidade em aprender a partir dos erros dos outros.= Because of his life experience, he’s got a  great skill at learning from other people’s  mistakes.
